About Company

Dalacyst specializes in licensed commercial harvesting, cleaning, drying and packaging of Artemia cysts from Kazakhstan's salt lakes. Our product is the optimal starter feed for crustaceans, fish and shrimp larvae.

Artemia cysts are the best starter feed for young fish and shrimp.

Dry cysts can be stored for up to 10 years without losing viability. This feed contains a large amount of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, amino acids and promotes rapid growth of young fish.

Work Process

Our Artemia Cysts Production Process – From Harvest to Packaging.

Every stage of our production undergoes rigorous quality control to maintain consistently high product standards. By combining modern technologies with advanced equipment, our specialists ensure reliable and stable production at each step, allowing us to deliver Artemia cysts that exceed industry expectations.

1

Harvesting Artemia Cysts from Salt Lakes

We collect Artemia cysts from shallow, hypersaline water bodies where they naturally concentrate along shorelines. Our harvesting follows optimal natural cycles: – Timed with seasonal water level drops when cysts surface – Utilizing both traditional and modern methods: ✓ Hand collection with fine-mesh nets ✓ Mechanized pumping with filtration systems – Ensuring minimal environmental impact

2

Transportation of Artemia Cysts to Production Facility

After harvesting and initial processing, Artemia cysts require proper transportation to maintain their quality and viability. The optimal storage temperature is 0...+10°C to prevent premature hatching. Minimal humidity is maintained to avoid cyst hydration.

3

Quality Control of Raw Materials in Laboratory.

Upon arrival at the production facility, Artemia cysts undergo quality standard verification. This stage is crucial for ensuring high survival rates and nauplii productivity during incubation. The process includes visual inspection and physical characteristic testing. Moisture content, buoyancy, and frequency are determined. Subsequently, the Artemia cysts undergo incubation testing to evaluate hatching rate percentage.

4

Salt Washing to Remove Impuritiess

Artemia cysts often contain mechanical impurities (sand, algae, organic residues). Salt washing is used to separate pure cysts from unwanted particles. A saline solution is prepared first, then the cysts are immersed in it. Large impurities are removed mechanically (using screens or filtration), while small impurities are filtered through a fine-mesh screen (mesh size 100–150 μm).

5

Centrifugal Dewatering of Cysts

After salt washing, Artemia cysts retain significant water content. Industrial centrifugation is used to remove excess moisture and improve storage quality. The process lasts 5-10 minutes until most moisture is removed. The cysts are then unloaded in a semi-dry state (25-30% moisture content). Advantages of centrifugation include: faster water removal compared to natural drying, reduced risk of bacterial contamination, and extended shelf life through precise moisture control.

6

Thermal Activation

After moisture removal, Artemia cysts undergo thermal activation, which: increases hatching rate (up to 95%), accelerates nauplii hatching, and reduces non-viable cysts. This stage is particularly crucial for industrial-scale live feed production.

7

Freshwater Rinsing and Final Drying

Following thermal activation, Artemia cysts require thorough washing to remove residual salt and potential impurities, preparing them for storage or incubation. Freshwater rinsing minimizes the risk of salt deposit accumulation and enhances hatching quality. The cysts undergo filtration to eliminate fine particles and residual shells, with the process repeated 2-3 times when necessary. Final drying utilizes industrial ovens to achieve optimal moisture removal.

8

Packaging and Portioning of Final Product

After completing all processing stages (cleaning, thermal activation, and freshwater rinsing), Artemia cysts are packaged and portioned to preserve quality, extend shelf life, and ensure transport efficiency. Final drying employs either air-drying chambers or vacuum drying at temperatures up to 40°C, maintaining pre-packaging moisture content below 6-8%. Packaging options include: – Jars/bags of 50g, 100g, 500g, and 1kg for retail orders – 20-25kg multi-layer bags for industrial bulk orders – Custom packaging configurations per client specifications
